Printmaking uses unique processes to build lines and textures with ink that emphasize a specific timeline on paper. I utilize this process to tell stories that comment on the underlying condition of all civilization. In society, the relationship between nature and humanity is becoming an extremely delicate equilibrium. The balance is challenged with each additional human construction and in my work, the characters are become a vessel burdened by this industrial growth. How will our overwhelming populace affect the direct relationship we have with the planet? I incorporate aspects from science, architecture, religion, and fantasy as a way to convey my interest in this relationship. Printmaking clarifies my work by using a process that allows an evolution to become exposed in each layer and imperfection. I am interested in creating prints with a chronological timeline, allowing the viewer to look through the lines and values.
While printmaking is my main interest, I explore many forms of art. I believe each medium can impact my interpretation of another. Painting and Fibers collaborate with my interest in printmaking and amplify the outcomes of my work. Each link below will take you to a specific medium I have explored in the past five years.
